Minot holds a national distinction when it comes to logistics and distribution. In 2017 the Industrial Park of Minot became
BNSF Site Certified
, offering tremendous cost savings and other advantages for expanding businesses in the park. At the time, Minot’s industrial park was one of thirteen across the U.S. to be awarded this title and is also the first site in the state of North Dakota to be recognized.
The Industrial Park of Minot, now known as the
Logistics Park of North Dakota
, is
located in the north east corner of Minot
, offering 800 acres that are available for new businesses. 386 of the acreage is site certified by
BNSF
for companies needing full rail service. The remaining acres are available for non-rail or less frequent rail service. MACEDC worked closely with BNSF in 2017 to secure and develop a rail spur for existing anchor tenant- AGT Foods (AGT) and future businesses to benefit from. With direct access to BNSF Railway, the industrial park is zoned Heavy Industrial (I-2) offering the convenient access to three U.S. highways.
BNSF certification ensures a site is ready for rapid development with an extensive analysis of existing and projected infrastructure, environmental and geotechnical standards, utility evaluation and site availability. By selecting a BNSF certified property, businesses greatly reduce development time, increase speed to market, and reduce upfront development risk of rail-served industrial sites.
