The Minot Area Chamber EDC has added a longtime journalist and communicator to its full-time staff.
Tim Olson assumed the role of Communications & Outreach Specialist on January 9, 2023.
Olson was born in Minot and is a lifelong resident of North Dakota. He is a graduate of Minot High School and Minot State University. After spending more than a decade as an on-air broadcaster and journalist at KX News in Minot and later Bismarck, he joined the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation to serve as Communications Specialist in 2021.
He and his family returned to Minot in August of 2022. “What an exciting time to be back in Minot!” Olson said. “It’s such a vibrant community — thanks in large part to the Minot Area Chamber EDC. I’m honored to be joining this team, and eager to serve and advocate for the business community in and around Minot.”
“Tim is an award winning, experienced multimedia communicator with an eye for detail and passion for community.” Brekka Kramer, President | CEO, shared. “Tim’s experience is a perfect fit for not only the Chamber EDC but our community, as there are so many great stories to share. We look forward to his work to support key initiatives that build and strengthen our economy while being a champion and voice for businesses.”
Tim lives in Minot with his wife Courtney, who serves on the faculty of Minot State University. They look forward to chasing their one-year-old son Soren all over town (he just mastered walking!).
