Members of Task Force 21, along with state and local leaders, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend ADC50, the Association of Defense Communities’ 50th Anniversary Summit. The event brought together defense community leaders, military officials, and policymakers from across the country to discuss military readiness, modernization, infrastructure, workforce challenges, and the partnerships that support service members and their families.
Minot played a visible role throughout the summit. MACEDC President | CEO Brekka Kramer moderated a panel discussion on military modernization that included Minot Air Force Base 91st Missile Wing Commander Col. Jimmy Schlabach. Kramer also led an Air & Space Force Community Council discussion and shared the history and impact of the Great Amer-ican Defense Community program from the main stage.
“ADC50 was an opportunity to bring communities, military leaders, and policymakers together to focus on the future,” Kramer said. “We know that strong community partnerships between Minot and Minot Air Force Base are essential to supporting service members, their families, and the missions they carry out every day.”
The insights gained through events like ADC50 help Task Force 21 better understand how national decisions translate into local impact at Minot Air Force Base and the surrounding community. Bringing those insights home supports the ongoing work of advocating for Team Minot’s mission and ensuring our region remains a strong partner in national defense.
