Task Force 21 Advocates for Minot Air Force Base and Air Force Global Strike Command Priorities with Congressional Leaders on Capitol Hill

The day before the 15th Annual Task Force 21 Nuclear Triad Symposium in Arlington, Virginia, Task Force 21 members headed to Capitol Hill to meet with North Dakota’s congressional delegation and advocate for priorities important to Minot Air Force Base. Conversations focused on infrastructure improvements needed to prepare Minot AFB for major modernization efforts ahead, including the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile system and upgrades to the B-52H Stratofortress fleet.

Advocacy and strategic engagement with federal leaders are central to Task Force 21’s work supporting the long-term success of the base and its missions. Task Force 21 is grateful for the opportunity to connect with Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer and Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, and for their continued commitment to the missions and people of Team Minot.

Task Force 21 is an activity of the Minot Area Chamber EDC that educates the local community, North Dakota officials, members of Congress, and the public on national security issues, particularly ones that affect Minot Air Force Base, the U.S. Air Force, and our nuclear deterrent. Comprising up to 12 dedicated volunteer members, Task Force 21 maintains ongoing relationships with North Dakota’s congressional delegation, senior Department of War officials, Air Force leadership, and defense industry partners. These efforts are supported by the State of North Dakota and the City of Minot, ensuring strong civic backing and continued momentum.
