Top U.S. Defense Leaders Join Minot Task Force 21 For Annual Nuclear Symposium

Task Force 21 is excited to announce the speaker lineup for the North Dakota Nuclear Triad Symposium, titled “Enhancing Nuclear Deterrence Amid Great Power Conflict,” scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, in Washington, D.C.

This annual event gathers leading experts from the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and other key sectors to discuss the significance and future of the U.S. nuclear triad, which plays a crucial role in our national defense. Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall will headline the symposium, sharing insights on his role overseeing the U.S. Air and Space Forces, managing a $173 billion budget, and ensuring the readiness of nearly 700,000 personnel.

Attendees will also hear from Gen. Thomas A. Bussiere, Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, as well as experts on international relations with China and Russia speaking on newly bolstered nuclear capabilities of our top adversaries, and North Dakota Congressional Delegation will discuss their efforts to support the modernization of the nuclear triad.

“The strength of our nuclear triad is a testament to the dedication and innovation of our men and women in uniform,” said Gen. Thomas A. Bussiere, Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command. “This symposium provides a vital platform to explore how we can continue to modernize and enhance our capabilities in the face of global challenges.”

The symposium, held at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington D.C., is free to attend, but registration is required, and spaces are expected to fill quickly.

“In a world of evolving threats, it's crucial that we remain vigilant and proactive,” said Brekka Kramer, MACEDC President | CEO. “This symposium is not just about discussing the future of our nuclear forces—it's about ensuring that every American, from Minot to Washington, D.C., can live in safety and security.”

Minot Air Force Base plays a vital role in our nation’s defense, and this symposium is a key opportunity for industry, political, and defense leaders to come together. “Our goal is to strengthen the connections that support not just our military but also the safety and security of every American,” added Mark Jantzer, Task Force 21 Chair.

To further engage with the event, attendees and the public are encouraged to follow the conversation on social media using the hashtag #NuclearTriad2024.
