Minot Area Chamber EDC (MACEDC) President | CEO Brekka Kramer joined the North Dakota Department of Commerce and other state and regional leaders in Washington, D.C. at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit, where they engaged with global companies evaluating U.S. locations for expansion and investment.
Hosted annually by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the SelectUSA Investment Summit connects international companies with economic development organizations and industry experts to support business investment in the United States. The 2026 summit welcomed more than 5,500 attendees, making it the largest SelectUSA Investment Summit to date.
Over the course of the summit, Kramer and the delegation from North Dakota made more than 100 connections with companies actively exploring U.S. expansion and highlighted North Dakota’s strengths in speed to market, infrastructure readiness, energy availability and coordinated partnerships.
“North Dakota has real strategic advantages in today’s global economy,” Kramer said. “Engagements like SelectUSA are important as we work with partners across the state to expand investment and opportunity.”
While in Washington, D.C., Kramer participated in the 2026 Transatlantic Trade, Technology & Security Partnerships Roundtable hosted by the Smart Community Council USA and Nordic Business Council US. The forum brought together U.S. and European leaders to strengthen cooperation in trade, technology, and security. She also attended an event hosted by Shigeo Yamada, the Ambassador of Japan to the United States, focused on the continued importance of strong U.S.–Japan economic relationships.
