Eat Local to Support First-Term Airmen: Operation Homebound Day is December 4
Posted:
Dec 01 2025
The Minot community is invited to grab a fork - and a friend - for a cause that truly hits home. This Thursday, December 4, both north and south Broadway locations of QDOBA Mexican Eats and Jersey Mike’s Subs in Minot will donate 100% of the day’s sales to Operation Homebound, a Minot Area Chamber EDC (MACEDC) program dedicated to sending first-term airmen home for the holidays.
From open to close, every burrito, sub sandwich, and chips and queso dish helps bring joy to a young service member this season. The proceeds from this special day will go directly toward purchasing airline tickets so that airmen stationed at Minot Air Force Base can reunite with their families, many of them for the first time since enlisting.
“Our community is incredibly proud of the individuals who serve at Minot Air Force Base,” said Brekka Kramer, MACEDC President | CEO. “Operation Homebound is a program that is close to our hearts and creates the opportunity for everyone from individuals to businesses and organizations to show support in a meaningful and personal way. We are so grateful to our local QDOBA and Jersey Mike’s teams for stepping up and making this event possible.”
This year’s program is already helping dozens of airmen reconnect with loved ones, thanks to generous donors and community partners. But there’s still time to make a difference. All it takes is one meal, or three! Stop by for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and encourage your friends, coworkers, and neighbors to do the same.
Participating locations include Jersey Mike’s Subs (304 4th Ave NW) and both QDOBA Mexican Eats locations (1700 S Broadway and 2045 N Broadway) in Minot.
As the holiday season commences, MACEDC is proud to announce that nearly 100 airline tickets have already been booked to help first-term airmen travel home, already starting in November and continuing through December as the program’s third year continues. Direct donations are also being collected and may be made through the MACEDC office or via Venmo at @MinotAreaChamberEDC.
