The men and women of Minot Air Force Base carry out one of the nation's most important missions every day. Audiences around the world will soon have an unprecedented opportunity to see their work in a six-part documentary series coming soon to Amazon Prime Video.

But before the world watches, North Dakota got a front-row seat to the series that puts Minot Air Force Base in the spotlight.

On September 29, the Minot Area Chamber EDC had the honor of hosting one of the first exclusive previews of THE WATCH: America’s Nuclear Mission at Oak Park Theater in Minot. Military leaders and personnel, elected officials, and business and community leaders from across North Dakota gathered for the special screening, which included remarks by the series’ Executive Producer Jeff Bolton and retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Thomas Bussiere, former Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command.

More than ten years in the making, THE WATCH offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at America’s nuclear deterrence mission — and shares the deeply personal stories of the men and women entrusted with carrying it out. Minot Air Force Base features prominently in the series as the nation’s only installation home to two legs of the nuclear triad: the Minuteman III intercon-tinental ballistic missile and the B-52 Stratofortress bomber. Attendees were treated to two episodes highlighting these missions and the people who support them.
