Minot Area Chamber EDC Awarded Base Enhancement Grant to Support Minot Air Force Base
The Minot Area Chamber EDC has been awarded $555,950 through the State of North Dakota’s Base Enhancement Grant Program, reinforcing Minot’s critical role in national defense and positioning the community for continued mission success.

Established by the North Dakota Legislature and administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce, the Base Enhancement Grant Program provides funding to strengthen, enhance, and advance military missions in North Dakota by supporting initiatives that improve installation readiness, community integration, strategic positioning, quality of life, and long-term mission sustainability. The funding will directly support Task Force 21 and MACEDC’s work to strengthen national advocacy, align strategic partnerships, and prepare the region for the future of the nuclear enterprise, including Sentinel modernization at Minot Air Force Base.

“We are deeply grateful to the State of North Dakota for recognizing the importance of supporting the men and women who serve our country and ensuring they and their families have the resources and community backing they deserve,” said Brekka Kramer, MACEDC President | CEO. “This grant allows us to be proactive, strategic, and unified in how we support the base, its missions, and the people who make it all possible.”

With the help of this funding, MACEDC will continue to lead and support efforts that elevate Minot’s role in national defense while strengthening community alignment with military priorities. Key focus areas include:

  • Supporting Task Force 21 initiatives that advocate for Minot’s military missions
  • Strengthening strategic partnerships with military leadership and national stakeholders
  • Advancing awareness of Minot’s role in the nuclear triad and modernization efforts
  • Preparing the region for future mission growth, including Sentinel program readiness
“Minot isn’t Minot without Minot Air Force Base,” Kramer added. “Together with our partners, we’re building on Minot’s strong foundation of military support to ensure long-term mission success and a community where service members and their families can truly thrive.”
