MACEDC leaders stepped out of their comfort zone and into the show ring during the North Dakota 4-H Public Leaders Showmanship Event at the North Dakota State Fair. Board Chair Jarid Lundeen, Board Member and Minot Mayor Mark Jantzer, and Economic Development Specialist Mark Lyman were among 24 local, state, and military leaders invited to participate.
Each leader was paired with an accomplished 4-H youth, who provided a crash course in livestock showing before the adults put their new skills to the test. Lundeen, Jantzer, and Lyman enjoyed learning from the young showmen, gaining a closer look at the preparation, patience, and knowledge required in the show ring. Congratulations to Lyman, who won his category.
The event offered a memorable way to close out the North Dakota State Fair while connecting today’s community leaders with the next generation. MACEDC is grateful to North Dakota 4-H for the invitation and for the work it does to develop confident, capable young leaders across the state.
