The Minot Area Chamber EDC (MACEDC) is pleased to announce the addition of Brent Lohnes, North Dakota General Manager for Hess Corporation, to the board of directors. Lohnes has been an active champion in the Minot area, driving support across many initiatives.
Mr. Lohnes has been General Manager since 2016 and has been with Hess since 2007, serving in many leadership roles. Lohnes is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all the Bakken assets within Hess Corporation, with primary responsibility for Bakken asset regulatory and environmental compliance and corporate social responsibility. North Dakota is the number three oil producer in the U.S. behind only Texas and New Mexico. Lohnes is often sought after to speak on behalf of the industry.
Through Lohnes’ leadership, Hess Corporation has been engaged in a wide range of MACEDC events including the 2023 Fall Women Connect event and 2024 Citywide Cleanup. Lohnes serves as a Minot Air Force Base Honorary Commander and Hess has supported Airmen through the Home for the Holidays initiative each year since the program started. Lohnes received the MACEDC Impact Award for Outstanding Leadership at the 2024 Annual Meeting.
Lohnes serves on numerous boards including the North Dakota Petroleum Council and has introduced programs (i.e., Intelligent Pipeline Integrity Program) recognized for innovation, dedication, and passion for the environment with a strong commitment to sustainability and transparency while meeting the world's energy needs. Lohnes is also committed to giving back to communities, through financial support for programs like Prairie Grit, Farm Rescue, or donating Hess Toy Trucks to schools for STEM education.
